Who are we?
Elisa babysitting started with a fabulous small group of dedicated babysitters. Throughout the years, we’ve kept our team happy and, by word of mouth, our network of excellent professionals has grow to what we are today. Learn more about us.
How do I know if I am getting a qualified babysitter?
Elisa Babysitting has the highest standards in Ireland. Each babysitter has gone through a personal interview, Garda vetted by ´Early Childhood Ireland´, are childcare qualified, many years as a childcare professional on a creche or school, a personality test and First Aid certificate. We also build a relationship with all and each of them so trust is always there.
Will I know everything about my babysitter before they arrive?
Once the babysitter is chosen, a detailed profile including his or her full name, personal details, background and photo will be sent by email.
Can I meet the babysitter before the schedule reservation?
Often we are able to accommodate your request, but sometimes is just not possible for availability reasons. Families can always speak with their babysitter by phone.
When should I book my babysitter?
It is always a good idea to book your babysitter with as much notice as possible to secure availability. Last minute request (less than 24 hours notice) are sometime difficult to accommodate.
How can I book a babysitter?
You can book a babysitter by filling out our contact us form, calling us directly through our facebook page, or speaking with your hotel to arrange it for you.
Can I request the same babysitter every time?
It is always our preference to book the same babysitter so your children feel more familiar. Please provide all of the dates and times with as much notice as possible so that the same babysitter can be arranged. We will do our best, however, we can never guarantee that the same babysitter will always be available.
What if I have a last minute request?
We are able to accommodate last-minute requests (less that 24 hours notice). Just bear in mind there are additional fees for a last minute babysitting and are subject to availability.
How do I confirm a reservation?
Once your request is reviewed, we will contact you to know more about your needs and send you a quotation. Once everything is agreed and paid, you will receive a confirmation with the babysitter information.
What is the minimum reservation?
The minimum, 3 hours, is not negotiable.
Do I always need to make reservation through Elisa Babysitting?
Reservations must be booked directly with Elisa Babysitting. The babysitters will not work for any client (or third party) outside us. The babysitters respect their jobs, commitments, and agreements and we hope you will too.
During the babysitting
How should I give the babysitter instructions?
Your babysitter will already have a description of all your requirements based on the information provided at the time of reservation. It is also recommended to have your additional instructions and requests prior to the babysitter’s arrival. Please be detailed and remember that each family is different. We recommend scheduling the babysitter to arrive at least 15 minutes before you have to leave to review and fully understand your instructions.
Is there anything the babysitter won´t do?
Babysitters will not clean, do laundry, drive with you or your children in any car, run errands, make deliveries, give medication, supervise medications or allow anyone not pre-authorised by the client into the home or hotel room.
Should I provide a meal for the babysitter?
Babysitters are responsible for their own meals. However, many families provide meals or snacks to the babysitters. If your reservation is 7 hours or more, a meal will be always welcome. They are human, and they also get hungry and thirsty. 🙂
What will the babysitter do while my children are sleeping?
Your babysitter will bring a book, laptop or quiet work to do while the children are sleeping or napping. If you are in a hotel room, the babysitter will sit quietly and in the dark until you arrive.
Scheduling & Cancellations
What if we need to change the time of the reservation or we are running late?
Our babysitters understand the need to be flexible. However, all reservations must be changed or modified with at least 48 hours notice. If not, you will be charged for the full reservation. All changes must be made directly with Elisa Babysitting during normal business hours.
What if I have to cancel the reservation?
We enforce a 48-hour cancellation and modification policy for all standard babysitting reservations.
What if there is bad weather, or my flights are cancel, etc...?
Elisa Babysitting cancellation policy will apply. There are no exceptions.
How does the payment process work?
- All payment must be made by bank transfer, PayPal or credit/debit card.
- The minimum 3 hours and we work as pre-pay services only.
- Bookings are confirmed after the payment.
- You are charged from the time that the sitter is scheduled to arrive to the time that you come home. Please respect these times as additional fees will apply if you are late.
Should I give any tips to the babysitter?
Tips are given at each clients discretion but don´t feel obligated. While babysitters do not expect tips, they will appreciate them if you are satisfied with the service. If that’s the case, please give cash directly to the babysitter. Many thanks!
What if the child is sick?
Please let us know when a child is sick. Babysitters will not administer medicine of any kind. Please be upfront when booking your reservation so that we can provide the best possible care. If the babysitter arrives and is unable to care for your child because an illness or special need was not specified, additional fees will apply.
