Babysitting at The Davenport Hotel, Dublin
Tonight I had the pleasure of spending a few lovely hours with a wonderful little boy named Jameson, aged 7, at the elegant Davenport Hotel in Dublin.
From the moment I arrived, I could tell it was going to be a fun evening. Jameson greeted me with a big smile and a box full of LEGO – always a great start! We spent a good while building, chatting about his school, his favourite subjects, and the many hobbies he’s passionate about. Kids always surprise me with how curious and full of ideas they are – Jameson was no exception. He also show me his great skills about playing piano!!! well done!
He even introduced me to a few video games I’d never played before (and patiently taught me how to play – I definitely needed the help!). I love how children are so generous when they share the things they love.
Later, he got ready for bed like a little champion, and we enjoyed a calm bedtime routine. Once he was asleep, I stayed for a couple of hours, quietly working on my computer and reflecting on the evening.

💛 Why I love what I do
Evenings like this remind me why I feel so passionate about my work. Every booking is a new adventure — a new family to meet, a different hotel to discover, and a child with their own unique personality and stories to share.
Whether it’s a luxury hotel in the heart of Dublin or a family celebration in a country house, this job keeps giving me the most heartwarming moments and valuable connections.
Being a babysitter isn’t just about caring for children — it’s about creating a safe, joyful space for them while their families enjoy peace of mind. It’s a job that allows me to bring presence, play, and empathy into every interaction.
And honestly? I think I have the best job in the world. ✨
